Based on the principle of normalization, MCRSI is designed to meet the needs of individuals with medical fragility to those who present challenging behaviors. The CFC site provides supervision up to 24 hours a day and all health care needs are monitored by a registered nurse.
MCRSI staff receive ongoing training in CPR/First Aid, medication administration, emergency procedures, therapeutic intervention, and other areas identified in the rule. Individuals receive ongoing assistance in daily living and self care skills. Their participation and personal choices will be encouraged which will challenge their decision-making skills, increase their independence, and offer them a sense of self-worth and self-esteem.
